Abstract
A method is described for fitting complex data to a given function, with particular emphasis on the case where the fitting parameters are periodic. A procedure is given for the fitting of data when the relationship between the observed variables and the functional variables cannot be solved explicitly. The method is illustrated by two examples taken from the field of dielectrics. These are the analysis of complex permittivity results and the calculation of the complex propagation constant of a liquid contained in a dielectric cell. Keywords
