Abstract
The degradation of the flux lattice with crystal deformation is studied in Nb. Flux lattices in thin foil samples have been decorated with Fe particles so that both crystal defects and flux lattice deformations are visible together in the electron microscope. It is suggested that the flux line array is amorphous in heavily deformed Nb, and that the argument may be extended to high current superconductors. Keywords
