Abstract
The ventilatory response to carbon dioxide was measured in volunteers before, and at intervals after the i.v. administration of midazolam 0.075 mg kg−1 and diazepam O.l5 mg kg−1. In the doses used neither drug caused any statistically significant respiratory depression and there were no differences between the drugs. Keywords
