Abstract
The coefficients of the dry‐weight‐rank (DWR) method ('t Mannetje & Haydock, 1963) can be predicted from the general occurrence of the geometric series relationship between abundance and rank of species in a pasture using either an estimate of the percentage contribution of the first ranked species, or from the ratio of the contribution of two species. Keywords
