Metals Intercalated in Graphite. II. The Friedel–Crafts Reactions with AlCl3–Graphite

Abstract
Aluminum trichloride can be intercalated in the lattice of graphite. This intercalate is a milder catalyst than AlCl3 for the alkylation reactions and gives less polysubstituted reaction products.
