Validating and Assessment of Peer Relationship Problems

Abstract
The Index of Peer Relations (IPR) is a short, easily administered, and simply scored instrument designed to assess the severity or magnitude of an individual's problem in experiencing peer relationships. The research reported here used a sample of 276 respondents to ascertain the reliability and validity of the IPR. The IPR was found to have a reliability of over .90. In addition, support was provided for the construct, discriminant, and factorial validity of the instrument. In light of these findings, the IPR represents an appropriate tool for use in both clinical settings and research.
