Abstract
Severe acute pancreatitis followed by pancreatic abscess formation, caused by Salmonella typhi, is reported in a patient who was probably a chronic typhoid carrier. The pathogenesis of typhoid infection, the management of the carrier state and the treatment of pancreatic abscess are briefly discussed.Keywords
