Abstract
In Brief This article describes the recent development of a diabetes-specific patient portal that is linked to an existing electronic medical record system. The portal was designed to provide patients with a secure means of electronic access to preventive health care reminders, information concerning their medications and health histories, educational materials, and self-management resources concerning diabetes-related risks. The authors briefly describe their work on the portal to date and discuss future directions for their research. Keywords
