Abstract
Subcutaneous chloroform eluates of carbon adsorbates of raw and finished water of a river polluted heavily with industrial chemical wastes produced cancers in mice. These observations indicate the urgent need for comprehensive chemical, experimental and epidemiologic investigations on cancer hazards from water pollutants because of the rapidly growing contamination of sources of drinking water by industrial and urban wastes and by radioactive and chemical fallouts and economic poisons, such as pesticides, evaporation retardants, boat motor exhaust and fuel oil. Keywords
