Road Traffic Accidents in Riyadh

Abstract
IN RIYADH, the capital of Saudi Arabia, develop ment has been taking place very rapidly. The Saudi government investment of oil industry revenues has played a major role in development. Naturally some problems, including road traffic accidents, has increased significantly as a result of development. The objective of this paper is to discuss the magni tude and the epidemiology of motor vehicle accidents and their resulting casualties which have occurred during the period 1974-85. It was observed that Riyadh has higher accidents rates but lower casualty rates than Kuwait.Keywords
