Abstract
Summary The steroid foam preparation seems to be a useful addition to medications, available for treatment of ulcerative colitis. It was particularly beneficial in cases involving the distal colon and rectum. Patient acceptance of the foam mode of administration was excellent, and all patients with prior experience with steroid enemas preferred the foam vehicle to the enema. The foam controlled tenesmus. No untoward side-effect was seen in any patient treated with the foam alone. Keywords
