Abstract

The hexachloroplatinic acid-catalysed hydrosilylation of vinylferrocene by octahydrosilasesquioxane H₈Si₈O₁₂ to the first organometallic monosubstituted octasilasesquioxane [(η-C₅H₅)Fe(η-C₅H₄CH₂CH₂)]H₇Si₈O₁₂ has been achieved.
