The Effect of Certain Bactericides, Especially Copper Sulphate, on the Longevity of Honeybees

Abstract
Bactericides were fed to honeybees in sugar solution under approximately controlled conditions. The data indicate that while copper sulphate is poisonous to bees in the higher concs., it also acts as a repellent and the factor of starvation is involved. The damage to bees that might result from the application of bactericides to open flowers in the orchard cannot be predicted from these studies.
