Abstract
The cellular immune response to murine sarcoma virus (MSV)-induced tumors in B6 mice was studied in vitro with two techniques: the 51Cr release test (CRT) and the microcytotoxicity assay (MA). The analysis of the effector cell nature in each of these assays showed that only thymus-dependent (T) cells are effector cells in CRT, while both T and non-T cells can be effector cells in MA. Comparative studies of the same lymphoid cell preparations demonstrated that the T cells revealed in MA might not be identical with the T cells whose activity is measured in CRT.Keywords
