Abstract
Nurses see themselves as the ones who offer comprehensive health care to the families of chronically ill children in hospital. But on what basic knowledge about parents' needs do we plan our care? A study of hospital-related stress for parents of chronically ill children reveals parents' perceptions of their stress and ways that the nurse can alleviate the stress by responding to the needs of parents. Keywords
