Abstract
Prelim. expts. indicating that a dose of 175 mg. Dilantin Sodium per kg. of body wt. was protective, this dose was administered intra-peritoneally in a soln. of physiol. saline to an exptl. group of 11 very susceptible animals. A control group of 11 similar animals was not injd. 5 hrs. after injn. all animals were subjected to sound stimulation (resonated electrical buzzer and bell). The exptl. animals responded with seizures in 4.4% of exposures, controls responded in 92% of exposures. 48 hrs. after withdrawal of the drug, both exptl. and control animals responded in 88.6% of exposures. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
