Abstract
The crystal structure of bis-2,4-(biphenyl-4-yloxy)-6-chloro-[1,3,5]triazine (1) reveals an extremely short 3.05 Å NCl interaction. The butterfly-shaped molecule 1 lies on a mirror plane thus forming an infinite polymeric chain along the c crystallographic axis via NCl interactions. Structural databank (CSD) analysis shows that this kind of short contact exists primarily in mirror-symmetric molecules. Keywords
