Rapid Identification of Beta Hemolytic Streptococci by Counterimmunoelectrophoresis

Abstract
Summary: Rapid identification of beta hemolytic streptococci as to specific groups can be achieved by the use of the counterimmunoelectrophoresis method. No cross-reactions among the various groups occur, and no false positive results have been noted. This inexpensive technique enables the identification of the various streptococcal groups from culture plates within an hour.
