Abstract
We consider the scattering of waves by a system of potentials with continuously variable scattering amplitudes, which fluctuate about a fixed mean value. The problem is formulated in terms of a generalized correlation function, which combines correlations in position and in scattering amplitude. We use the theory to estimate the shape of maxima which occur in the mobilities of electrons injected into the conduction bands of the condensed rare gases. Keywords
