Abstract
The Griffiths inequality, relating the degree of the phase boundary, degree of the critical isotherm, and order of the temperature divergence of the isochoric specific heat, near the critical point of a fluid, is derived from a thermodynamic equality, and not from an initial inequality derived from convexity properties of the free energy. Keywords
