Abstract
The distorted-wave Born approximation is used to calculate the excitation of the cadmium 4d-15p1P autoionising state in the (e, 2e) process. The angular correlation between scattered and ejected electrons is shown to be much more sensitive to the inclusion of the distortion than the differential cross section for excitation of the autoionising state. Comparison is made with experimental data. Keywords
