Abstract
Fifteen species of brachiopods belonging to eight families are described from the youngest marine Permian faunas (late Lymingtonian = ?Kazanian) of Tasmania. Taxa include species assigned to Echinalosia, Terrakea, Plekonella, Fusispirifer, Sulciplica, Tomiopsis, Notospirifer, Glendonia, Pseudosyrinx, Fletcherithyris and Gilledia. A new ingelarellid taxon Birchsella gen.nov. with type species Birchsella spinosa sp.nov. is introduced. The brachiopods form part of a larger fauna, mostly molluscan, which is listed but not described. Correlation of the fauna with those elsewhere in eastern Australia and beyond is briefly discussed. Keywords
