Abstract
A one-dimensional analog of the “Fröhlich-polaron” is considered. Using large deviation techniques we show that the asymptotics forthe strong coupling theory of the polaron is given by a “mean field-polaron” and can be described by a variational problem whose solution is given explicitly. Keywords
