Why Randomize?

Abstract
A set of uniformity data on inocula of Trichinella larvae are examined critically for the purpose of comparing the merits of several randomized and systematic exptl. designs. Many commonly used systematic designs introduced bias and inflated error estimates. Specific recommendations are made for special cases. Exptl. factors which make this problem important are listed and discussed.
