Abstract
Low vit. A levels occasionally found by the commonly-used nonsaponification method are attributed to the presence of color-reaction inhibitors. Mild saponification of calf blood plasma improves the accuracy of the vit. A and carotenoid detns. when activated glycerol dichlorohydrin is used as the colorimetric reagent. A possible relationship between diet and the presence of color-reaction inhibitors has been suggested. This publication has 13 references indexed in Scilit:
