Techniques of Intravenous Infusion

Abstract
This review outlines the problems [e.g., infection, thrombophlebitis, and chemical and particulate contamination] and dangers of i.v. infusions (rather than of specific fluids such as blood) and discusses equipment and technique. Consideration is given to actual fluid regimes or to such specialized situations as [human] long term total parenteral nutrition or neonates.
