Abstract
Scleroma (rhinoscleroma) is a well established clinical entity. On the other hand, the etiology of the disease has been in dispute. The author summarizes his studies on the bacterial agent, Klebsiella rhinoscleromatis, and presents further evidence for the relationship of this disease organism to scleroma. The cultural and serologic identity of the organism is described. Keywords
