Abstract
Embryos of two stem parasitic mistletoes, Amyema pendula and Amyema miquelii, have been successfully grown on modified White's medium supplemented with IAA (0.5 ppm) + casein hydrolysate (500 ppm). In 3–5 weeks the embryo germinated to form a massive holdfast and a pair of leaves. The presence of endosperm either delayed or inhibited the appcarance of leaves. The papillate outgrowths on the hypocotyl were shown to be vegetative buds and differentiated into multiple shoots.
