Observation of the Pion Double-Charge-Exchange Reaction

Abstract
The pion double-charge-exchange reaction has been observed. A value of μb/sr was obtained at a pion energy of 139 MeV for the isobaric analog transition from the ground state of oxygen-18 to the ground state of neon-18.
