Abstract
More than half the cattle of the world are raised in the tropics, where human undernutrition and malnutrition that could be remedied by greater use of animal products are still rife. Progress, which depends on better production and use of grass, has been limited hitherto by misuse of cattle, by overgrazing, and by disease. The potential output of beef from Nigeria is vast and could eventually lead to export business. Keywords
