Abstract
A glass manifold, which could be evacuated to 10-3mm Hg and to which was attached a tube for generating the fumigant, a reservoir for storing it, and a chamber for fumigating insects at atmospheric pressure was designed for studying the metabolism of fumigants by insects. A geiger counter incorporated in the fumigation chamber measured the gas concentration as the insects absorbed the fumigant.
