Abstract
The electric dipole transition matrix element of a molecular crystal in the presence of an electric field is calculated. It is found to be proportional to the matrix element of the zero‐field Hamiltonian between nearest neighbors and inversely proportional to the electric field strength for the limit of strong fields.Keywords
