Abstract
For incident projectile energies between 1 and 100 GeV amu-1 angular and energy differential cross sections for electron-positron pair production with simultaneous capture of the electron into the K shell of one of the colliding ions have been calculated. Within the framework of the plane-wave Born approximation (PWBA) the author compares the results using exact Coulomb-Dirac wavefunctions with those using approximate wavefunctions to describe the electron-positron pairs. Keywords
