Abstract
Formulas for the first-order corrections in α to the dipole form for the angular distribution for atomic photoionization are derived within a nonrelativistic central-potential model. The results are expressed in terms of two parameters γ and δ and simple expressions for the angular distribution for unpolarized, polarized, and partially polarized light are given. Calculations for a number of rare-gas subshells are presented and compared with previous calculations. Keywords
