Abstract
The absorption of slow K− -meson by complex nuclei frequently result in the emission of fast σ±-hyperons unaccompanied by w-mesons. This observation is combined with the argument of Jones that such absorption is a surface phenomenon to suggest that the nuclear surface is rich in nucleon clusters, possibly ‘alpha-particles’.Keywords
