In the presence of a catalytic amount of trityl perchlorate, symmetrical ethers are prepared from aldehydes and triethylsilane, and unsymmetrical ethers are also obtained from carbonyl compounds, alkoxytrimethylsilanes and triethylsilane, in good yields, respectively. Keywords
