Abstract
A report is presented of a young women who developed myasthenia at age 17 and thyrotoxicosis at age 19. Thymectomy performed at age 20 resulted in improved control of the myasthenia and a remission of the hyperthyroidism which has persisted for 2 yr. Coincident with the remission of hyperthyroidism there has been a decrease in the size of the thyroid gland, and a marked reduction in antithyroglobulin antibodies present in the patient''s plasma. The thymus was histologically abnormal. Thymectomy in this instance was related to a remission in Graves'' disease. Keywords
