Abstract
Hawking as a survival strategy for the urban poor in Nairobi.: the case of women examines the role of hawking in the survival strategy of low-income women and their families. The author gives information about hawkers including the hours worked, income and the problems they encounter including harassment by the public authorities. Later sections identify policy implications and recommendations.Keywords
