Composition chimique et valeur alimentaire des jeunes pousses de peuplier (Populus) et de frêne (Fraxinus)

Abstract
The digestibility and voluntary intake of the young branches of poplar (Populus) and ash tree (Fraxinus) were measured in 3 Alpine goats. The digestibility of the different organic components of the poplar was higher than those of the ash tree, especially the cellulose (Van Soest) digestibility (69.4% and 46.5%). The voluntary intake of dry matter was 76 g/kg W 0.75 [body weight correction factor for meat production] and 60 g/kg W 0.75 for ash tree and poplar, respectively.
