Abstract
A brief scale suitable for the assessment of elderly patients attending a day hospital is described. Reliability and validity data are reported and it is concluded that the rating scale may be found useful by occupational therapists in establishing level of cognitive functioning. It is suggested that future work might examine the usefulness of the scale in detecting change in level of functioning. Keywords
