Abstract
A method Is proposed for determining the best possible fit that can be obtained by rescaling the multiplicative components of multiattribute attitude models. This optimal scaling approach is illustrated on both cross-sectional and intra-individual data. It is concluded that valid comparisons between the performance of competing multiattribute attitude models must be made between optimally-scaled versions.Keywords
