Abstract
The effect of low concentrations of [3H]thymidine was studied on mouse blastocysts cultured in vitro. Experimental concentrations of 1 nCi/ml and 5 nCi/ml [3H] thymidine were shown to have no effect on the number of blastomeres or the rate of development up to the blastocyst stage. In blastocysts cultured in the higher [3H]thymidine concentration, mitotic rate appeared to be lower in the trophoblast than in the inner cell mass.
