Abstract
This paper deals with the first myocutaneous flap in the rat. It is located just caudal to the axilla and consists of the insertion of the cutaneous trunci mus cle with overlying subcuticular fat and skin and is supplied by the lateral thoracic vessels. It exhibits an all-or-none survival pattern. Because the skin can serve as a marker for muscle viability, we believe that this flap has great potential in future free muscle research. © Wiley-Liss, Inc.Keywords
