Abstract
Quantitative analyses were carried out on the infrared‐to‐visible conversion processes and related luminescent phenomena in Yb3+‐sensitized phosphors. The analyses were based on a rate equation model and the effect of host lattice was taken into account using the Miyakawa‐Dexter relations. The results were found to be in fair agreement with the experimental results on luminescence characteristics under ultraviolet and infrared excitations. Approximate values of parameters characteristic of the host materials were obtained for YF3 and YOF lattices by comparing the calculated and experimental results. This publication has 17 references indexed in Scilit:
