Abstract
Summary.A 5.5‐year‐old, male, feline leucosis virus‐positive cat developed a concurrent dermato‐phytosis due toMicrosporum canisand a subcutaneous infection due toStaphylotrichum coccosporum. St. coccosporumcaused mycetoma‐like lesions. The fungal elements revealed features like those seen in phaeohyphomycosis. Until nowSt. coccosporumhas been described to be non‐pathogenic. The pathogenicity ofSt. coccosporumwas corroborated by experimental infection. Keywords
