Abstract
13 C N. m. r. has been shown to be a further valuable tool for investigating the position of silylation in trimethylsilylated secondary amides. Whereas most lactams are N-silylated and 2-hydroxypyridines O-silylated, acetanilides exist as a mixture of isomers. Keywords
