Abstract
Family business consultation is an expanding arena of interdisciplinary practice and collaboration. In this article, the self of the individuals involved, in the family business system, within the societal context are explored as three interacting, mutually impactful levels or units. Some major premises about family businesses are articulated and a case vignette is presented to illustrate the dynamics and functioning of a family business and the intervention approaches a consultant might use. Keywords
