Abstract
Caesium cyanide, so far rarely investigated, has been studied with inelastic neutron scattering techniques between 295 and 195K. Clear effects due to a coupling of translational modes with internal states of the CN dumb-bell have been observed. The present experimental results are analysed assuming a simple form of the molecular excitation spectrum. Keywords
