Abstract
The 2.5 [image] alcoholic KOH used in the Callow modification of the Zimmermann reaction may be preserved for 3 or more mos. with ascorbic acid if kept in an atmosphere of N. Chromogenic capacities of crystalline 17-ketosteroids or those in urine extracts are not altered by either the presence of ascorbic acid or the age of the stabilized reagent. Keywords
