POSTPARTUM RUPTURE OF A RENAL ARTERY ANEURYSM TO A SOLITARY KIDNEY

Abstract
We present the case of the first known survivor of postpartum rupture of a renal artery aneurysm where the contralateral kidney was congenitally absent. An important surgical principle, that of establishing the presence of one kidney before removing the other, is illustrated.
